Anne R. Creasey

I knew early that I wished to be an attorney. I shot straight through University of California, Berkeley, and immediately attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. For my first position in my professional career, I landed a litigation position at a mid-size firm in Oakland, CA of approximately 30 attorneys. My legal career-path has included defending large corporations, providing advice on real estate investments, business development, and the like. I have been granted admission to the bar in California, Washington, and Oregon.

Now, I am able to exercise my passion: helping people have their wishes honored, and assisted through difficult times as people age.  My experience has provided with me with not just technical skills, but the practical insight to be effective. I have provided solutions to clients' legal challenges that have included:

  • creating an estate plan that balances the needs of the client’s second spouse and the client’s desire to provide for his primary adult children;

  • creating an estate plan that recognizes the adult children’s different economic status and granted different gifts in a manner that allows all children to appear to have gifts in equal amounts;

  • successfully negotiating a plan so that family members could access vacation home equitably;

  • maximizing real estate investments and minimize taxes through 1031 exchanges;

  • develop LLCs to protect real estate investments and transfer property interests upon death;

  • creating succession plans for business owners;

  • preparing pre-marital agreements and provide counsel to create a consistent estate plan;

  • appearing for court cases involving will contests, modifications of trusts, enforcement of trust distribution terms and accounting, contested guardianship/conservatorship;

  • preparing special needs trusts; and

  • assisting with Medicaid planning, including income-cap trusts.

When I’m not in the office practicing law, I find joy in the simple activities of day-to-day life. For me, this includes spending time with my husband and two adult children (“Go Ducks,” as I often hear in my UO alumni dominated household), attending live theater, walking my rescue dog Nemo at our favorite local parks, engaging in a moderate amount of exercise via Zumba dance class, watching a current Netflix miniseries, and if I am lucky enough for time to permit, traveling.
